Jordan – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor held a workshop for the students of the School of Law at the Middle East University in Jordan on December 10, 2019, where most prominent international human rights conventions were reviewed in addition to explaining the work of their affiliated committees.

The workshop aimed to introduce relevant international conventions and to improve mechanisms of interaction between national and international human rights organizations, NGOs, and various concerned actors, as well as the mandate of international treaties. The workshop aimed to show the importance of these conventions locally and internationally and the mechanisms to implement the recommendations these bodies adopt.

The participants in the workshop showed eagerness to promote the importance of implementing all human rights agreements and conventions effectively. They stressed the importance of the School of Law students' belief in international human rights principals and standers.

The workshop addressed the latest developments in promoting and activating the bodies of international human rights treaties, the role of national organizations in promoting human rights both inside and outside the country.

The workshop is part of a project implemented by the Euro-Med Monitor and the Middle East University of Jordan. The project aims to carry out seminars, workshops, and lectures on the International Human Rights Law and the International Humanitarian Law to raise legal awareness among Jordanian youths.
